Río Quillen

Patagonia Outfitters was the very first organization ever to operate Estancia Rio Quillen professionally; this goes back to 1986. For years the place had been closely held by its owners only to be enjoyed by them and their close friends.
The Quillen is another true jewel of a place in the Patagonia Outfitters offer of prime fishing destinations. The Quillen River valley is spectacular; the river, challenging and interesting.

The Quillen River flows out of Lake Quillen, but is largely spring fed and is therefore very rich in nutrients and underwater life. Mayflies, caddis, stoneflies, scuds, pancora crabs, and weed bed bottoms give the river its main feature: a classic text-book dry fly and nymph river. Healthy browns and rainbows dwell in its meandering waters resulting in very productive fishing.
The lodge, built with local timber and strategically placed on a hillside overlooking the spectacular Quillen River valley, is of attractive country style. It offers 10 charmingly decorated bedrooms with 6 bathrooms, most of which overlook the valley.

A comfortable sitting area with a huge stone fireplace, bar and dining area, invites guests to relax and share evening post-fishing anecdotes. Breakfasts on the verandah as well as drinks enjoying spectacular sunsets can be an experience to remember.
Estancia Rio Quillen also features two comfortable cabins: the River Cabin and the Lake Cabin. Both fully equipped to provide comfortable accommodation for family groups. |

Service and meals at Estancia Rio Quillen are top quality, and various non-fishing programs can be easily arranged for the non fishing companion. Riding in the majestic Andes; floating the clear waters of Lake Quillen; and trekking either in well-marked trails within the property as well as specialized mountain guides for the more challenging treks in the nearby National Park are among some of the alternatives Estancia Rio Quillen has to offer. All of these are carefully planned in order to suit each person’s needs and are led by the lodge experienced bilingual guides.
